Assata’s Daughters is a Chicago group that focuses on black female empowerment in the tradition of Asaata Shakur.

This donation will specifically pay for:

$2,500 Cop Watch
$2,500 for Garden
$5,000 Library
$15,000 Teen Workshops.
- This will pay for 50 teens to attend workshops over a period of 1 year

$25,00 to Texas advocates for Justice
- Four weekend intensive workshops with community members who have been incarcerated or detained and their family members.

- The goal of TAJ workshops is to develop leadership in the movement to confront mass incarceration and end reliance on the criminal justice system.
- Each intensive weekend training trains approximately 30 new Texas Advocates for Justice members. In addition, 2 interpreters, 1 childcare professional and 4 Grassroots Leadership staff are needed to carry out the trainings.

American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) Arizona, Fighting the Treatment Industrial Complex to fight privatization of prisons in Arizona.

This donation will specifically pay for:

$20,000 to cover cost of behavioral health treatment for formerly incarcerated/convicted people participating in AFSC’s programs
$5,000 for travel expenses for directly impacted and formerly incarcerated/convicted people to present at conferences, public events, and for media interviews
